I've realized there are a lot of things I want to do, and I thought if I don't right it down I'll forget and not do it. Also, if you never say you're going to do it, next thing you know you're 60 and you can't do it because you just had a hip replaced. So, this is what I've got so far.

Hey errdbodaaaay
I have this job in an apprasial office and I do about, eh, 40 minutes of work everyday. So, I spend the rest of the time on the internet soaking up useless information! My summer is going pretty well actually. I have this group of guys that I hang out with a lot which is nice because I spend almost all of my time with girls at school. No offense ladies I love you very much but I need some boys to beat me up every now and again. I also found a new crush which is very exciting seeing as I've been stuck in the past for months now. My brother is moving to New York. He got a job teaching in the Bronx. Its some program where he will be teaching and getting his masters. I don't like it. Well I do, I mean that's amazing and he's really excited. But its my big brother, and hes going to be far away. Not like Athens, Ohio far away like some big city with lots of bad people that I know nothing about! I think this whole growing up thing sucks. I hate everything about it. I'm more and more terrified everyday. The future is probably the worst thing I can think of, ever. We are adults, when did this happen? How can we make it stop? |

I ended the school year last night in the best way possible. It was probably the funniest night of my life. I went out with a bunch of girls including Tina, Erin, Meghan, Erin, and Kenzie. Brad played the roll of our pimp for the night. We started off by playing power hour and taking shots and of course within 2 drinks tina was already drunk. So we all started telling her to do things and this went on for most of the night. I started answering Erin's phone for her because an unwanted guy kept calling. For some reason I am a terrific phone actor when I have been drinking. I think I definitely scared this guy off. Meghan and I once again practiced our sweet dance moves, we usually break out the whip, we are amazing dancers. We got buzzed up and then headed to a party on Lincoln. A few of my guy friends are graduating and this was there last party which is pretty sad to me because I spent quite a few nights there the past 2 years. Wow its weird to think I've been here for that long. Any rate on the walk there I told tina to kick trees, punch shitty cars, run up the stairs like rocky, and swing on light poles because it was sexy. She would respond with "I'm not going to do everything you tell me to do!", then should would go on to do exactly what I instructed her to do. We got there and it was packed so I found Mike and had him call house beer for me. From there it was a lot of hugs and HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I love that when you're drunk everyone is your best friend. But really I did know a lot of people at this party so I spent a lot of time running around talking about how much I loved/missed them. I then spotted the designated hot guy on our floor. So because I had no inhibitions at this point, I ran over and said hi. I totally played it off like I didn't know exactly who he was and that he lived down the hall from me. I think I'm really smooth sometimes. I'm pretty sure I acted like he was my best friend, so I am now terrified to see him because I'm sure I embarrassed myself. I think I should be able to avoid him for 2 days, at least I hope. Or maybe not? So then Kenzie and I went on a man hunt for guy in maroon shirt, guy in blue shirt and so on. Not too much luck though, the hunt continues. So, the cops came and busted it kinda early, who knows what time exactly. I love how nice the cops are here. I can't imagine how anyone gets arrested! I have walked by them leaving parties wasted twice this weekend and both times I got something like "thanks ladies, have a good night". I'm sure the girl card helps there. So we walked home and I was gone by this point and I have no idea what happened to half of the people I came with. Tina, Mariah, and I ended up back in our room where we started eating everything in sight. There is salsa everywhere. I then started laughing hysterically and rolling on the floor, kicking things. Then security knocked and we are so slick we ran into our bedroom and slammed the door and laid on the bed and giggled for a while.
What a way to end it off, so much fun. Probably one of the funniest nights of the year. This year was pretty rough for me at times but experience is definitely the best teacher, and I have learned a lot. I feel like I'm at such a cool place right now, feeling like my life is finally mine. Feels good, this summer should be great but I can't wait to come back in the fall. |

I know I usually am not serious, but sorry guys this one is. I'm not very good at this type of thing but I need to get it out. So here goes...
I feel like I have been a selfish little brat. All I'm ever worried about is my stupid little insignificant life. I can't believe I go around acting like I've got something to complain about, ever!
I started realizing this a few weeks ago when I heard that a girl named Amy, who went school with me who I also worked with for a short period of time, had been in a terrible accident. Amy was married and had one child and another on the way, she was about 6 months pregnant. She was in a car accident which was so severe she lost her baby and was put into a coma. In the blink of an eye she was fighting for her life. Amy was always one of the most positive people I had ever met in my life. I don't think I had ever seen her in a bad mood or say a mean thing to anyone. Its amazing how such horrible things happen to the nicest people.
Roger is my Dad's business partner. Really nice guy. Roger has had brain cancer for some time now. They keep finding tumors, going in taking them out and finding more. He has been such a fighter. So many times they thought he was going to lose his battle, and yet he keeps fighting. Its really hard to watch my Dad deal with this. He is always at the hospital, on the phone. He couldn't enjoy our trip to Memphis because they thought Roger was on his bead. When we got back my Dad went straight to the hospital. It looked like Roger was going to bounce back again. He seems to be fighting to stay here for his daughter's wedding, which is in May. I pray that he makes it there.
Easter weekend I was at home spending time with my family. Now when we spend time together, we also have a very good time. We were going to an adult easter egg hunt, and we were hunting for beer. We had some people over to our house first to have dinner before. One of my parents friends asked if we had heard about Tyson. Tyson was in my conformation class at the methodist church in Norwalk. We had a little fling then, my friend Lauren and I snuck into Tyson and Aaron's room on our retreat. He was really gifted at sports he played everything and was really good at everything too. He started going to Perkins high school so I lost track of him. That was until this year he started dating a friend of mine at Ohio State. He was so good at football that he was able to play for OSU. I had talked to him on the phone and we had a laugh about our 7th grade love affair. My mom's friend Karen goes on to tell us that Tyson was being tried at wide receiver. He had been hit at practice and landed on his neck, and he did not get up. Tyson had surgery to put a plate where her vertebrae had been crushed. He was unable to move. I immediately thought of Krista because I knew they had become close. I talked to her and learned they didn't know the extent of the damage. He could feel his arm a little so they were unsure if it was from swelling or paralysis. He was unable to see visitors. It was a waiting game.
That week I was walking into my dorm and I was approached by a girl who asked if I wanted to give blood. I didn't know what to say because I never had before. I said I didn't know if I could. She told me where it was in case I wanted to try. I came up to my room and looked at the flier she gave me. I began to think about Tyson and Amy. I thought about how many people were in need and I was so selfish to think I didn't want to go through some pain to save someones life? I probably will need some blood one day in my life. I decided I had to do it, I couldn't believe I never did it before. Kirsten went with me because she has done it before so I felt comfortable with her. It didn't help they were operating out of a bus but I signed up anyways. It really didn't hurt, the finger prick hurt more then anything. I just got light headed after she put the needle in so I got a bottle of water and like ten wet towels on my head. Kirsten said I looked hilarious. I made it through without passing out and it actually went really fast. The blood was pouring out, ha sorry I had to. Then they shoved cookies in me and stared at me because I guess I was still a little creepy looking. They finally let me go after another bottle of water an packet or oreos. I have to say that even though I felt pretty sickly that day, giving blood was the most rewarding thing I have done in a long time. It made me feel like I finally did something that is really going to help someone else. I know my work will do that in the future, especially if I pursue health care design. It just made me want to do more, anything, to help anyone. I'm so glad I did it.
I have been in a pretty good mood since then. Final project was going unusually smooth. Krista told me today that Tyson has feeling in his legs! I was so thrilled. He was released from ICU and they are going to start therapy. I'm sure he does not have an easy path ahead of him. She is going to visit him today and I'm sure he will be so glad to see his friends. It felt so good to hear positive news about him. When, I heard about Tyson I commented to my roommate how things were happening to people I know. It seemed like a string of bad events or something weird.
My mom called me today and I missed it. I called her back and she said that she just wanted to let me know my uncle had a heart attack. He wasn't feeling good so he drove himself to the hospital. Turns out he was having a heart attack, haha. This is funny only because it is such an Andy thing to do, drive yourself to the hospital during a heart attack. He is a single guy, he tends to be a loner, kind of complicated guy. He is also one of the funniest people I have ever met and a ton of fun. He really cares about his family, he emails everyone like 10 times a week. He lives in Houston and travels for work all over the country. I love him to death, I am closer to him then my young uncle who lives in Norwalk that I don't think I've ever had a real conversation with. Hes the one who called my mom. Apparently Andy had serious blockage in his arteries. He had surgery and "fixed" the problem apparently. I don't know very much right now we are supposed to talk to him tonight. I plan on going to see him as soon as possible. I'm sure he'll be fine, it just finally hit right at home.
I'm just really mad at myself for being unhappy this year. It has been a very hard school year for me in my personal life, but I am sorry that I let it bring me down. I forget to stay positive, and I hate myself for that. I need to quit being so damn cynical.
So I just wanted to say--- Get the hate out of your heart, and the worry out of your mind. This life is precious and we're wasting it. |

If you see Kirsten or me around be sure to congratulate us on our first college F. We actually did the assignment, and did in fact, recieve failing grades. This is an outstanding achievement only shadowed by a fellow classmate who recieved an F-. A grade in which she and I can only hope to strive for.
